Citrix Instructions for MAC Users:
Obtaining access to Novell-delivered Applications
(Applications included: Banner GUI, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Respondus)

SUMMARY
The following instructions are steps to obtain access to Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks, and Respondus from your MAC using the Citrix connection. Note: This article applies to MAC users only.  Screen shots are provided based on MAC OS X.
PROCEDURE #1
Downloading the Citrix Client:

1. If you do not have a copy of the Citirix Client on your workstation, you can download a copy from the location listed in the table below.  Please note that you will need to know the current operating system (OS) of your MAC in order to download the correct client.  If a copy of the Citrix client is already installed on your machine, please proceed to PROCEDURE # 2.

Only select one operating system download and then select the Citrix Client Configuration.
(To determine the Mac OS Click on Apple, and then select About this Mac )
Only select one download type. Once the page is open click on Get Software for the Citrix Client.

Configuring the Citrix Client:
2. Once the client has been downloaded and installed, configure the application to connect to the appropriate distribution center. Click on the Citrix ICA Client folder located on the desktop.  Next click the Citrix ICA Client Editor. 

3. The screen displayed below will appear, without any preset configurations included. Apply the following settings as circled below:

  • Under Connection select the radio button next to Server.
  • Update the IP Address to:  130.254.5.21 under Connect To.

4. Click the Security tab and apply the settings that have been circled:

  • Desselect Use Default
  • Select 128 Bit for the Encryption Level.
5. Click the Save Button to apply the settings, a prompt will appear asking WHERE to save the file.  
6. Once the steps have been completed, the Citrix Client has been configured.
 
PROCEDURE #2
Launching the Citrix Client:
1. Click on the 130.254.5.21 ICA Client icon located on your desktop.  The following screen will appear and you will need to enter your Novell Username with Context followed by .Staff.AASU as indicated below.  (ex:  .username.context.staff.aasu) If you do not have a Novell Account, you cannot proceed with this process.  For a Novell account, please fill out the appropriate request form found at http://www.helpdesk.armstrong.edu/Forms.htm and forward to the University Computer Support Helpdesk.   
2. After a Successful Login: The following screen will appear asking: "Do you want to allow or deny READ access to this folder for the rest of this session.  Click on Allow.
You will then see the following screen which will display your NAL window.  You will gain access to Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Respondus by simply clicking on the appropriate icon.  
 
PROCEDURE #3
Ending your Citrix Session:
Once you have completed your tasks and wish to exit the system, click on the Logoff icon located on the lower left of the screen.  This process may take a few minutes.  Once this process completes, you will no longer have an active connection to the Citrix system and can proceed working on your local machine.
