Documentation for Junk Mail and Trash Folder Automatically Purging |
Junk Mail Folder:
Junk Mail Handling is a feature within the GroupWise system which allows us to block unwanted email's at several levels. This includes all e-mail, appointments, or tasks where the senders address is in the form of name@domain.com, name@domain.org, and so forth. With the Junk Mail rules applied to the system, messages are automatically moved to your Junk Mail Folder. This folder can tend to get quite large, using valuable space and resources. Because of this, a 30 day rule will be applied to your Junk folder. This means that any messages that are older than 30 days that exists in your Junk folder will be moved to your Trash. From this point, the rules that apply to your Trash folder, will now apply to those messages which have been moved from Junk to Trash. Once removed from Trash, these messages will no longer exist on the GroupWise System.

Junk: Auto-Delete After
Specifies the number of days after which you want junked items to be automatically deleted from users' mailboxes. This has been set to 30 days.
|
GroupWise Trash Folder:
All deleted mail and phone messages, appointments, tasks, documents, and reminder notes are stored in the Trash. Items in the Trash can be viewed, opened, or returned to your Mailbox until the Trash is emptied. (Emptying the Trash removes items in the Trash from the system.) Even after mail items are deleted, they still use space in the message database and can be retrieved from the Trash until it is emptied. Because of this, a 30 day rule will be applied to your Trash folder. This means that any message that is older than 30 days that exists in your Trash folder will be removed from the system.
