New campus wireless connection called "COMPASS" is now available!

COMPASS and AASU_ STUDENT_WLAN are Wireless Networks available for students.
A new wireless network called "COMPASS", was created for students on AASU campus to make it easier than ever to connect to a convenient and secure wireless network. This network uses WPA2-PSK (WPA2-Personal) security for encryption of network traffic. When prompted for the network's key or passphrase, enter:

What do I need on my laptop to access the campus wireless signal?

 

Wireless usage on AASU campus requires at least Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Mac OS 10.4. Your AASU Pirates' Cove username and password information is also needed. To access AASU_STUDENT_WLAN, computers with Windows XP/Vista/7 require the SecureW2 TTLS client.

Do I need to install the client?

 

If you need access to internet only you can use the "COMPASS" connection that does not require the client.
Other campus resources are available through AASU_STUDENT_WLAN which use WPA2-Enterprise encryption and authentication for greater security.

If I already have the client installed, will it still work?

 

Yes, access through the client will still work. Using the "COMPASS" wireless network is provides an easier and convenient way to connect to a secure wireless network.
